Veteran-centered events in late February and onward
ServingTogether is in the process of regularly listing all of our events on the EveryMind events page: www.everymind.org/events. The idea is this will be a simple, updated, central location for anyone to see what we're doing. So, if you feel like you've missed something or aren't sure of the many ways we can be of help, we want to make it easy to have the latest version of everything at your fingertips. That said, it's a work in progress at the moment. Please bookmark it and share it around, and know that it will get more reliably comprehensive as we move forward.
As always, if you have events you'd like me to share, please send flyers and information to dwilliams@everymind.org. If you know anyone who'd like to be added to receive these emails, please write me or use this form. If you'd ever like to be removed from this list, just send me an email.

Join ServingTogether for our monthly Caregiver Connect virtual event. This is a great opportunity to meet other caregivers in the DMV region and foster a network of support. This empowerment group offers a vital haven for the unsung heroes of our military and veteran community – our dedicated caregivers.
More than just a meeting, it's a community built on shared understanding and empathy. Here, caregivers can connect with others who truly "get it" – the relentless demands, the emotional toll, navigating health-care systems and the deep love that fuels their commitment.
What you can expect: • Learn about community resources • Build a community of support • Connect with a community of caregivers in the DMV region
This group provides a safe and confidential space to share experiences, receive emotional support, gain coping strategies and build resilience. Whether you're new to the caregiving journey, have been a caregiver in the past or have been on this path for years, this group offers a place to recharge, to be seen and to remember that you are not alone.
Register for this free event by clicking the button below. If you haven't registered since 2025, we've adjusted our registration. You'll need to register again for the Caregiver Connects in 2026. For more information, contact Donny Williams at dwilliams@everymind.org.
ServingTogether Veterans Collaborative, Capital Region
March 18 • 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
ServingTogether is bringing all of our regional collaboratives into one meeting. This monthly collaborative is an all-inclusive effort with military communities throughout Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia.
Our mission is to build capacity within the region while facilitating collaborative solutions regarding the needs of our veterans, active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve, military family members, and caregivers.
No advance registration is needed to join. Simply click the link on the button below at 11 a.m. on March 18 to be admitted into the meeting. For any thoughts or questions, write Jason Marshall at jmarshall@everymind.org.
ServingTogether and the Veteran Services Center at Goodwill are proud to offer this Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention training aimed at equipping individuals with the knowledge and tools to make a difference in the lives of those at risk of suicide. The QPR mission is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing an innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training.
As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to:
• Recognize the warning signs of suicide
• Know how to offer hope
• Know how to get help and save a life
This will take place at the Veteran Services Center at Goodwill, 1750 Monocacy Blvd., Unit A, Frederick, MD 21701.
Join us on Saturday, March 21, to get properly set up within the VA system. Have you had your rating established? Has it been a while since a veteran service officer (VSO) has taken a look to see if you could qualify for more? Do you have claims or appeals you've been meaning to file? Do you know someone else who could use this assistance? This will be a great opportunity to take care of all of that with a team of VSOs ready to help.
The VA provides a tremendous amount of benefits to our nation's veterans, but many don't pursue what they've earned, spending money in the civilian system for services that may be covered. VSOs are your advocates within the VA system, trained and accredited to help you file the right thing in the right place, worded the right way, to ensure everything is done right the first time and far more likely to be approved in a timely manner.
ServingTogether is holding this claims clinic to help veterans get their VA ratings and claims squared away. It will take place at EveryMind, 1000 Twinbrook Pkwy, Rockville, MD 20851.
This will be first-come, first-served. No appointments are necessary, but we do ask that you RSVP below to let us know you're coming. Bring your DD214 and anything else that you think would help prove your claim (records of service injuries, etc.).
Don't miss this great opportunity to meet with a VSO on the spot. RSVP today by clicking the button below or heading to bit.ly/March21claimsclinic. For more information, write Donny Williams at dwilliams@everymind.org.
