As we welcome March, we’re taking a moment to check in and hope you’re finding small ways to take care of yourself as we move toward spring.
March is both Women’s History Month and National Social Workers Month, and at EveryMind that feels deeply connected to who we are. We are proud to be a women led organization in a field shaped by so many women who care for and support others every day. At the same time, women are nearly twice as likely to experience anxiety and depression, often while balancing caregiving, work, and community all at once. Mental health is not an abstract issue for women. It is personal, it is daily, and it is shaping families and workplaces across our state.
That is why we are especially grateful for the social workers on our team. In schools and throughout the community, they are the trusted adults students turn to, the advocates helping families navigate complex systems, and the steady presence in moments of crisis. Their work strengthens entire communities.
To our supporters, thank you for making this possible. Your partnership allows us to keep social workers in schools and to continue fighting for policies and funding that protect these supports across Maryland. Scroll down to see highlights from our advocacy work this past month and how we are working to ensure services like school based social work remain strong for the students and families who rely on them every day.

Throughout February, EveryMind joined lawmakers, educators, providers, and community partners in Annapolis to call for sustained investment in behavioral health services across Maryland.
Later that week, our team joined hundreds of advocates at Lawyer’s Mall for the Keep the Door Open Rally, standing in support of the more than one million Marylanders living with a mental health or substance use disorder and urging the General Assembly to fully fund critical behavioral health programs.
Tameelah shared:
“When behavioral health funding is cut, support for our students is cut. Safe spaces disappear. Mentors disappear. Students who were finally beginning to see a future for themselves are often left behind without the guidance that helps them get there.”
Her words were a powerful reminder of what’s at stake and why continued investment in mental health services matters.
Inspired? Join us at our rally tonight! Blueprint Day 2026
EveryMind will be attending and supporting Blueprint Day 2026, hosted by Strong Schools Maryland. This statewide rally brings together students, families, educators, youth advocates, and community partners to celebrate progress and call for full funding of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.
