This Women’s History Month, we recognize the resilience, strength, and unique mental health experiences of women. Women are twice as likely as men to experience anxiety disorders and nearly twice as likely to experience depression (adaa.org). Yet, they are also the backbone of support systems—juggling careers, caregiving, and community leadership.
At EveryMind, we offer a range of services to uplift not just women but the entire community. Our 24/7 Lifeline is always available for anyone in need of immediate support. We provide mental health literacy and education for caregivers, empowering them with the knowledge they need to better support themselves and those they care for—our upcoming event will dive into this topic in more detail. Through our in-school programs, we assist families with access to community resources, ensuring no one faces challenges alone. We also proudly offer ServingTogether, a program dedicated to veterans, service members, and their families. This includes our new Women Warriors Network, which provides essential support and camaraderie for women veterans.
This month, let’s uplift and support one another. Because when we invest in mental well-being, we all thrive.

Navigating 988 and Helping Others Through Tough Times
Please join us for EveryMind’s upcoming community-wide virtual event focused on 988 and how to effectively support individuals who may be struggling or in crisis.
This event is ideal for service providers, parents/caregivers, and any community member interested in supporting the emotional well-being of the community
Participants will learn:
How to use 988 as a resource for yourself and others, including what happens when you reach out
Best practices for supporting others who may be struggling or in crisis
There will be an opportunity for Q&A with a Mental Health Clinician and Hotline Professional
Earlier this week, our EveryMind team was in Annapolis, standing alongside so many others to push back against $116 million in proposed cuts to mental health services in Maryland—including $90 million from the Maryland Blueprint for schools and $20 million from 988 crisis response.
These proposed cuts don’t just ignore the growing need for support, they actually cost more in the long run. When people can’t get mental health care, they don’t just stop needing it. They end up in ERs, in crisis, or without support, adding more strain (and cost) to an already overwhelmed system. Investing in mental health services now means fewer crises later—it’s the right thing to do, and it’s the smart thing to do.
EveryMind sees this play out every single day. We’re on the ground answering 988 calls, showing up in schools to provide support, and connecting community members to resources. We know what happens when services are cut, and we know how much it matters to keep them going.
Maryland can’t afford to turn away from mental health. We’re going to keep fighting to strengthen and sustain the behavioral health funding our communities need. Read more about the efforts to restore funding.
On Thursday, January 30th, EveryMind hosted a Legislative Meet & Greet, bringing together our dedicated school-based and frontline staff with Maryland senators, delegates, and their teams. This gathering provided a valuable opportunity to share insights about our essential services while gaining a deeper understanding of legislative priorities. By fostering these connections, we can better align our efforts to support the community. A huge thank you to all the senators, delegates, and staff who attended!
