Month of the Military Child

Stock Photos (8)

This April, in honor of Month of the Military Child, we’re spotlighting EveryMind's ServingTogether program, which connects service members, veterans, and military families with essential resources. Military kids grow up navigating unique challenges—frequent moves, new schools, long separations from parents, and the ever-present uncertainty that comes with military life. They learn resilience early, adapt quickly, and deserve to be recognized for their strength and sacrifices.

On April 11th, Purple Up Day offers a simple but powerful way to show support. Wearing purple is a tribute to military children everywhere—a blend of all military branch colors, symbolizing unity and appreciation for their journey. A small gesture that carries a big message: their strength matters, and their sacrifices are seen.

Military life fosters adaptability, but it can also bring stress and uncertainty. That’s where ServingTogether comes in, helping military families find the support they need—fostering connections to local resources. This April, we’re proud to shine a light on ServingTogether’s work and the incredible military kids and families it supports.

In The Community

Last month, Rep. Jamie Raskin and Montgomery County Council President Kate Stewart hosted an important conversation about resources available for those impacted by recent federal layoffs. We at EveryMind were proud to join the discussion, sharing mental health resources and support options for those navigating these challenging times. Read more about this important conversation here.

We’re here to remind you: no matter what you’re facing, you don’t have to go through it alone. Let’s continue the conversation and support each other.

Thank you ABC7 for talking with Dipika, EveryMind’s Hotline Supervisor, about important resources available to our community.
